The Cafe on the Green is open to the public and specialty retail and office spaces are located in The Village Center.
The Arthur Hills designed golf course is a challenge and is meticulously maintained. The Golf Shop and staff are available for member assistance. With magnificent trellises and beautiful, soothing fountains, The Village Green is the heart of The Village Center. With menus to suit every taste, the full-service staff will help make diner’s dreams come true. Casual dining is available in The Cafe on the Green. Members may also enjoy refreshments in The Leaning Tree Lounge or gourmet meals in the private dining rooms. Celebrations like wedding, receptions, wine tastings and treasure hunts are just some of the special events at The Palencia Club.
Opened in May 2002, The Palencia Club is one of the most exciting private clubs developed in the area offering wonderful social, dining and golf experiences. Members enjoy many social activities from the casual bridge clubs to the formal New Years Eve Dinner and Dance. Club opportunities are enhanced by the members-only Wine Club, Broadway Music Dinners and live music on Fridays and Saturdays at the Café on the Green.
Both the novice and frequent golfer will enjoy the private golf course that journeys out to savannahs and overlooks the Intracoastal Waterway.
Amid Palencia’s numerous amenities, none is more heralded than the championship Arthur Hills-designed golf course. Shaped by the natural beauty of the land, this 7,071 yard masterpiece winds through centuries-old maritime oak trees and along the Intracoastal Waterway and the Tolomato River. The 16th hole journeys out to the savannahs and up to a picturesque green that overlooks pleasure boats casually passing on the Intracoastal Waterway.
Palencia’s Swim and Fitness Center is located in the heart of the community in the Village Center and offers a variety of programs and activities. Included are an adult lap pool, a children’s wading pool and a family pool complete with water slide. The pool area is open every day of the week. Lifeguards are on duty at the family pool Tuesday through Sunday during posted hours.
The fully equipped Fitness Center helps residents de-stress and stay in shape. Personal Trainers are available by appointment. The fitness programs include Aqua Aerobics, Pilates, Ocean Vibes Yoga and others. There are also children’s programs such as Summer Camps, Tumbling, Ballet, Karate and more.
Recently recognized by American Sports Builders Association as a soft-court Facility of the Year, The Palencia Club enjoys Welch Tennis Har-Tru courts. This full service tennis center allows members to enjoy tennis day or night with ten fully-lighted courts. Play is greatly enhanced with the accuracy provided by laser grading and the finely tuned level court surface along with all the advantages of subsurface irrigation.
The Tennis Complex is located conveniently at the heart of the community in the Village Center. A fully stocked Tennis Pro Shop managed by experienced USPTA professionals offers clinics and private lessons for all ages and levels of play. Adult and Junior program for a wide range of levels, Socials, Leagues and Tournaments round out the array of activities.
Whether new to the game, starting back after years off or an advanced player, members will find the Palencia Tennis program immensely enjoyable.
Included in the many wonderful aspects of living in Palencia are the neighborhood parks and the abundant fitness trails. Providing a sense of community, the pocket parks give each neighborhood a gathering place, a play area and respite. The interconnected network of boardwalks carefully traverses sensitive wetlands and encourage every resident to explore Palencia’s many amenities. Residents are able to enjoy community events, school leagues and other activities associated with the athletic park system.
The popular Pirate Ship Park showcases the playground and athletic fields. The covered Pavilion is a great place for parties and casual gatherings.
The Athletic Park Facilities include basketball courts, softball and soccer fields under the supervision and management of St. Johns County Parks & Recreation Department.
