The Plantation is located in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, home of the PGA Tour Headquarters, The Players championship held each May on the world-famous Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass, and the Headquarters for the Men’s Tennis ATP Tour. The renowned Mayo Clinic is located just across the Intracoastal Waterway only short drive from the heart of Ponte Vedra Beach.
The Plantation is the only totally private, equity golf club & neighborhood in Northeast Florida, with just 565 homes and home sites. All residents enjoy a full membership at the club. Homeowners in The Plantation enjoy 24-hour security in a gated community with private mail delivery, home-side trash collection and even a private library.
Residents love spending time at the club’s Oceanfront Pavilion which includes private beach access, a bar and grill, and a Junior Olympic size pool. They play golf on the Signature Arnold Palmer golf course or enjoy tennis on one of the six Har-Tru surfaced courts.
The 25,000 square foot Plantation clubhouse which was completely renovated in November of 2008 is the centerpiece of the community and great gathering place for neighbors. They enjoy casual dining at the 19th Hole restaurant, formal dining in the Lake Room or a private function in the President’s Room. Members can relax with a drink at the bar or in a lounge chair in front of the fireplace or enjoy a game of cards in the card room.
Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay designed and built this majestic par 72, signature championship golf course. The course presents a mix of demanding par fives and three signature par threes along with a variety of doglegs left and right and an island green at the 15th Hole.
Five sets of tee placements that range from 5,058 to 6,940 yards provide golfers of every level the opportunity to challenge themselves and enjoy their round at the same time. There are 58 bunkers and on 16 out of the 18 holes water comes into play.
Practice makes perfect. With two putting greens, three chipping areas, a full driving range, and a teaching complex each golfer has every opportunity to fine tune their game.
A team of talented golf professionals is ready to help members enjoy every round of golf. Take a quick visit at the new Pro Shop to see the latest in golf wear and equipment. It is no wonder why The Plantation players are always dressed to the nines.
The Superintendent of Grounds ensures golfers beautiful surrounds and a perfectly manicured course, if not always a low scoring round. The PGA and LPGA professionals who are often in the neighborhood, frequently remark that playing a round of golf at The Plantation is akin to playing on some of the best courses they play on their respective tours.
The Plantation tennis players are a tenacious bunch and enjoy playing a friendly, but competitive set or two with their friends.
Four of the six Har-Tru courts have been recently resurfaced, and two new courts were recently added. The courts are lighted for night play so the fun doesn’t stop when the sun goes down.
Players have access to a ball machine to practice their game at no charge. The Tennis Pro Shop offers racket re-stringing and re-gripping. Lessons, either individual or group instruction are available year round. During the spring, members can also take advantage of free clinics which are offered for all level of players.
Teams at every level compete on the local level. From the covered porch and grandstand-style patio spectators have front row seats to watch and encourage their friends.
The new Fitness Center in the Plantation House has quickly become one of the most popular places in the neighborhood.
A complete workout circuit is offered with both weight resistance and cardiovascular machines to keep our members fit and healthy. The Center is outfitted with Cybex weight equipment, a Precor cardiovascular theater, and a free weight section. The Studio has a calendar providing members with daily exercise classes in a range of disciplines. Private sessions may also be scheduled.
Only a 10-minute bike ride from the front gate, the Beach Club is paradise. Put your feet up, relax, and watch the waves break. Feeling more energetic? Race the waves with your kids, splash around in the Jr. Olympic-size pool, or hang upside down on the jungle gym.
Neighbors frequently gather in the evenings and watch the stars dance across the sky. Some bring a picnic basket of goodies to BBQ, others are happy to select from the Chef’s menu. No matter what your dining decision, eating out under the stars is always the right one.
Poolside has loads of lounges to choose from, all with ocean views. Spontaneous flag football games happen on the mini-field while the youngest wave hands in the air on their way down the slide.
The Beach Club was completely renovated in the spring of 2009, remodeling the kitchen, updating the locker rooms, and expanding the view from the club house. It is safe to say, “It doesn’t get any better than this!”
The Grand Reopening of the club house was in November 2008 after an extensive renovation and expansion project. Now this 25,000 square foot beautifully decorated and outfitted clubhouse has become a great gathering place for all the neighbors.
The addition of a casual dining room and patio overlooking the finishing hole added new excitement both to dining and playing golf. It is fun watching friends try to master a perfect golf shot to the peninsular 18th green and make their final putt. The 19th Hole is also great for spontaneous family dinners on those “too busy to cook” nights.
The Lake Room, aptly named for the breathtaking view over The Lake, is a favorite dining room with members for more formal dining occasions and special events such as the Holiday Ball, family gatherings and parties with friends.
The view is shady and cool in The Card Room where bridge groups like to gather and try to outbid the opposing team. In the cooler months, the fireplace adds a coziness and warm glow to the game.
The new President’s Room is the perfect size for a private dinner, party or special meeting. With windows that frame the magnificent 18th green everyone is guaranteed a good time.
The newest feature attraction of The Plantation House is the world class Fitness Center and Studio. Voted by the members as the one amenity they would most like to have within the neighborhood, the workout center is a hive of activity from morning until night.
Both the Ladies’ and Men’s locker rooms have been beautifully remodeled and decorated.
The neighborhood library is located in the clubhouse to check out a great read for beach or poolside reading.
